1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behaviour.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which includes flooring in the kitchen, dining room, and bathrooms and also a large rugs and a medium-pile. It was capable of driving close to walls and even cross thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty traversing the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop effortlessly on its flat side against the floor and lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or rugs.
The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock adds a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank holds enough water for around twelve cleaning sessions before it has to be cleaned, although it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to prevent it from becoming blocked. You will also need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to prevent them from getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other combos which require more effort to maintain.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option to meet your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many unique features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning that eliminates obstructions and cleans furniture. The mopping feature is impressive, with mops that rotate that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned and dried at the base station, as required.
This robot combination is simple to install and use, with a clear interface that walks you through the process. It includes an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically empty and filled as required. It has a variety of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that easily picks up most of the debris, and even smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also pretty good, although it can get stuck on small area mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Mopping capabilities are very good and include a pair of mop heads that lift and scrub the floor, rather than just moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. Mops can also be refilled at the top of the station if they are required.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new flagship robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender for our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush ensure that a thorough, customized clean is achieved.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests well by avoiding pet hairs as well as other dirt. The sweeping power is enhanced by an additional side brush that automatically swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, as well as an extended mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is nimble, navigating narrow spaces and climbing stairs without missing a beat. It also comes with a smart app that lets you select your floor type and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system that allows hands-free operation.
The mops also stand out, with a 2700Pa power that can combat pet hair and dirt on carpets as well as hard floors. The Q5 is among the few robots we test that didn't have issues with high-pile carpets or area rugs, but it couldn't remove cables or kitty litter, which is no surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
